Description:

This volunteer program in Argentina, located in the neighborhood of La Boca in Buenos Aires, is run by a non-profit organization that gives homeless people a place to restructure their lives. By offering artistic workshops, classes and meetings in areas such as carpentry, painting, theatre, music, photography and IT, the participants of the program get the chance to create a new and productive lifestyle. Members also participate in regular psychotherapy sessions designed to alleviate any negative implications of living on the streets that may have damaged their mental wellbeing.

Activities:

The organization is looking for enthusiastic and driven volunteers to help out in all the activities that are offered to the members, whether artistic or social. Anyone participating in this volunteer project should be willing to participate in any kind of tasks, from simple duties and chores such as preparing the materials for the workshops, attending the classes to help the students and proposing new ideas, etc. This project is a great opportunity to volunteer abroad and improve your Spanish language skills!

Requirements:

The organization is particularly interested in volunteers with an interest and/or background in areas such as physiology, social work or art (painting, photography, sculpture, etc). Volunteers should have a minimum age of 18 years, be creative, innovative and enthusiastic, with strong social skills.

Minimum:

4 weeks.

Work Schedule:

Monday through to Friday, preferably in the mornings.

Spanish:

Intermediate. It is recommended to take a Spanish course before starting your volunteer work.
